An arrest warrant has been issued for Dr. Jill Stein, the former presidential candidate for the Green Party. This follows her failure to appear in court regarding a 2024 assault charge.
The court session was scheduled for Monday at 9 a.m. Dr. Stein and her attorney did not attend, but prosecutors were present. St. Louis Judge Karma Johnson commented on Stein’s absence, stating, “There will be a failure to appear warrant for Ms. Stein,” as reported by St. Louis Magazine.
The charges against Stein originate from a protest that occurred at Washington University in April 2024. The protest was related to the war in Gaza. During the dispersal by police, over 100 arrests took place, yet charges were filed against only two individuals, including Stein.
Dr. Stein was officially charged in March 2025. She faces misdemeanor charges for assault and trespass stemming from the protest incident.
Newsweek has reached out to Dr. Stein for a comment via email outside regular business hours.
