Bob Iger, longtime CEO of Disney, and Joshua Kushner, a venture capitalist, are set to acquire the Los Angeles Lakers. This purchase is part of a $12.5 billion deal made with Mark Walter’s ownership group.
Walter, who previously acquired the Lakers less than a year ago for an unprecedented $10 billion, is now selling the team for a significant profit. The transaction marks a $2.5 billion increase in the Lakers’ value.

This women’s soccer club will benefit from a $50 million contribution from the couple. The investment will expand the club’s budget and address financial losses. The arrangement is pending approval from the National Women’s Soccer League.
