A high school football coach in California was arrested after students found a cellphone secretly recording them in a campus locker room. The discovery led to quick action from the school and local police.
Incident Details
The phone, discovered by students at Tracy High School, belonged to Jeffrey Pribble. Pribble, a physical education teacher and varsity football head coach, had worked at the school for five years with 22 years of experience in the district.
Students found the recording device on Thursday, stopped the video, and deleted it. They then turned the phone over to a teacher. Later that evening, a parent alerted Tracy police, which prompted an investigation.
Arrest and Investigation
Following the investigation, detectives identified the phone as Pribble’s, leading to his arrest on Friday. Tracy Unified School District placed Pribble on leave pending criminal and district investigations.
The school did not name Pribble in communications with parents but stated that they would fully cooperate with law enforcement in the ongoing investigation.
