Cape Verde countered with Sidny Lopes Cabral’s stunning equalizer, a shot that curled into the net’s top right corner. Vozinha continued to defend valiantly, making significant saves, including one on another Messi shot.
However, Argentina’s winning goal was a heartbreaking moment as it came off an own goal. The contest ended with Argentina ahead by a single goal, closing the gap in rankings between teams. This match stands as a testament to two unforgettable players in World Cup history.
