A tragic accident took the life of a 4-year-old child on Thursday after electrocution by a clothes dryer, according to Kansas authorities.

The event occurred in Savonburg, Kansas, while the child was playing inside a home. The Allen County Sheriff’s Office reported that the child allegedly suffered an electrical shock from a 220-volt dryer.
The parents rushed their unconscious child to a nearby hospital around 9:30 p.m., but the child was pronounced dead shortly after.

No foul play is suspected, though the Allen County Sheriff’s Office is investigating. Authorities extended condolences to the family and those involved in the incident.

The circumstances were ruled an accidental death following investigation.
