The Cleveland Browns are currently in the midst of their training camp, and Shedeur Sanders remains confident that internal conflicts often seen in other quarterback rooms are not an issue for them.
During a conversation with Bernie Kosar, a Browns legend, Sanders discussed his experiences during his second camp. Reflecting on the team’s atmosphere, he said, I’m truly excited for this year. The attitude of everyone in the building, the hard coaching, we like all that because we know it’s aimed at making us great. Everyone’s goal is aligned here. That’s why we don’t have the petty quarterback battles internally. That’s not up to us; that’s up to whoever the coaches think,
Sanders remarked to Kosar.
Selected by Cleveland in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, Sanders stepped up as the starter in Week 11 last season. This opportunity arose after fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel suffered a concussion. Sanders exhibited leadership potential with a 3-4 win-loss record in seven starts. He achieved 1,400 yards, seven touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. Notably, he secured a surprising Pro Bowl nod in his rookie year.
Heading into his second season, Sanders faces a new challenge. He’s competing against NFL veteran Deshaun Watson for the starting quarterback position. So far, there is no clear indication from new head coach Todd Monken about who is leading the battle. Dillon Gabriel is also in the mix, positioned third on the depth chart, and eager for a chance to start. According to Sanders, there is little drama among the quarterbacks behind the scenes.

The Browns are set to kick off their preseason on Aug. 15 with a match against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field. Their regular season begins on Sunday, Sept. 13, with an away game against Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
