Referee Eddie Arango intervened, granting Orton critical recovery time. Orton capitalized with a strategic low blow to both Rhodes and Arango. This deceptive tactic gave Orton the upper hand, enabling him to execute an RKO and secure the pinfall as Robinson re-entered the ring.
The Aftermath
Orton secured a significant victory, potentially wrapping up his conflict with Rhodes for the time being. Meanwhile, Rhodes faces a challenging situation with accumulating losses threatening his top-tier status within WWE. He was previously defeated by Sami Zayn during Undisputed WWE Championship at Night of Champions and by CM Punk at SummerSlam, influenced by Orton.
Rhodes’ potential recourse to reclaim his position in the title race lies through the upcoming Money in the Bank ladder match, with qualifying bouts set to commence shortly.
