The report titled “Assault on Democratic Values and Principles: How Islamist Entryism Weakens Civil Society and Higher Education in Canada” highlights supposed links between the Muslim Association of Canada and the Muslim Brotherhood. Established in 1928 in Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood aims to create a global Islamic caliphate governed by strict interpretations of Islamic law. Claims of connections to Canada’s nonprofit sector, particularly charitable organizations linked to the Brotherhood, have sparked significant controversy.
The Muslim Association of Canada responded, refuting these allegations as Islamophobic and biased. The Ontario Superior Court also scrutinized these claims, favoring the association’s stance in later audits.
