The Trump administration intends to construct a triumphal arch near Arlington National Cemetery. They plan to use a 101-year-old authorization intended for a different project on the same site.
Photographs taken on May 15 show workers measuring the area of Memorial Circle, the selected location for the arch dedicated to President Donald Trump.
In an unusual move, the administration does not seek new approval from Congress for this 250-foot monument. They claim existing authorization from a century ago suffices. This earlier authorization was for a similar project that never came to fruition.
