Development in Nancy Guthrie’s Suspected Kidnapping Case

Fox News reports have sparked controversy concerning ransom demands linked to the alleged abduction of Nancy Guthrie. Harvey Levin, in a video posted on TMZ’s YouTube channel, refuted claims that ransom letters contained apologies for Guthrie’s purported death. “The note we received doesn’t mention Nancy Guthrie dying or the kidnappers apologizing,” Levin clarified.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos indicated that the FBI has been investigating these ransom demands, ranging from bogus to potentially genuine, from the start of the case. There’s been no immediate comment from the FBI regarding recent developments.

The ransom note suggests Guthrie is scared yet okay, but doesn’t hint at her death.

Local media outlets also reportedly received ransom demands, with some claims suggesting Guthrie had died. The FBI allegedly used small amounts of cryptocurrency to test the validity of these demands, though credibility remains unclear.

Authorities have entertained theories that the abduction could involve a “wrench attack” where a hacker hires local criminals to extort Guthrie’s daughter, Savannah Guthrie, co-host of “Today.”

Significant communications have emerged from individuals alleging knowledge of Guthrie’s whereabouts, seeking money for information. Levin recounted that a source asked for $100,000 for details, contrasting the larger $4 million ransom demand.

One source expressed fear of implication due to past criminal activities and sought money to disappear. Levin mentioned that this person never received funds and FBI sources halted communication when TMZ offered to pay.
