Donna Brazile Urges Democrats to Focus on Future Elections

Former acting chair of the Democratic National Committee, Donna Brazile, declined to address Jill Biden’s comments about being ‘frightened’ during her husband’s 2024 presidential debate. Jill Biden expressed concern about Joe Biden’s health during his debate with Donald Trump, fearing he might be having a stroke. The former first lady’s remarks have brought renewed attention to discussions about Biden’s age and health.

When asked by Fox News Digital about Jill Biden’s recent comments, Brazile chose not to engage. Instead, she emphasized the importance of looking forward in political strategy, urging Democrats to focus on upcoming elections rather than past events. Brazile stated, “Donna Brazile will not focus on the past. Donna Brazile want to focus on the future.”

She referred to the decision made in 2024 when Joe Biden decided to step down and support Vice President Kamala Harris. This announcement came amidst criticisms of how the Democratic Party managed concerns regarding Biden’s age and cognitive health during his presidency, which some argue affected the party’s performance in 2024.

Brazile, a seasoned Democratic strategist who served as interim chair of the DNC in 2011 and 2016, stressed the importance of moving beyond the 2024 defeat towards future electoral challenges, including the 2026 midterms and beyond. “Anyone who’s focusing on the past is not focused on the future,” she said, highlighting her commitment to upcoming elections.

Hannah Brennan, a Digital Production Assistant for the Politics team at Fox News, provided insights into the ongoing party dynamics. She joined Fox News Digital in January 2026, after interning at the Aspen Daily News, reporting on significant political events and cultural gatherings.
