The band shared the news via social media, stating, “We are unable to perform as scheduled tonight at Chase Center in San Francisco due to a medical emergency involving a member of our band.” They also mentioned that the concert featuring Lionel Richie would be rescheduled, with a new date to be determined.
The legendary group assured fans, “Ticket holders should retain their tickets, which will be honored for the new date, or refunds will be available at the point of purchase.” They added, “We sincerely apologize for the unexpected change and appreciate everyone’s understanding.”
No further details about the medical emergency were provided at the time. Notable members of Earth, Wind & Fire, including Philip Bailey, Lionel Richie, Ralph Johnson, and Verdine White, were reported to be backstage when the news broke.
