Elon Musk Considers Legal Action Against Rep. Ro Khanna

SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk stated that it might be “time to sue” Rep. Ro Khanna, a Democrat from California. Musk’s comments came after Khanna criticized the billionaire during the “I’ve Had It” podcast. Khanna suggested that if the Democratic Party regained control of Congress, Musk should face accountability.

“I do believe once we take power, there needs to be accountability,” Khanna said. “There needs to be accountability for Elon Musk. They’re celebrating that he created 4,400 millionaires, but they don’t discuss the 4.5 million children who he possibly sentenced to death by dismantling USAID.”

Khanna accused Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) of USAID cuts that he claimed could lead to the deaths of millions of children globally. Musk reacted on social media, referring to Khanna as a “liar” and calling the accusations untrue.

“This is a total lie. All DOGE did was require contact with aid recipients to confirm funds were used legitimately. Anything less is insane! Multiple USAID officials have been charged by the Justice Department for stealing money,” Musk posted, referencing a 2025 press release.

In another response, Musk noted, “The DOGE standard was simple: Provide contact information for aid recipients to ensure no fraud. Money was going to corrupt politicians under the guise of aid! Liars and stock insider traders like Ro the Robber should be in prison!!”

Musk consistently referred to Khanna as a “robber,” questioning his stock trading practices. Khanna later addressed Musk’s legal threats, mentioning in a video that Musk called for a Justice Department investigation into him.

Khanna said, “Today, Elon Musk threatened to sue me, and he called on the Justice Department to put me in prison. That’s right. The world’s richest person is targeting me because I cited an academic study about DOGE cuts potentially leading to millions of child deaths overseas.”

He continued, “Elon, I thought you supported free speech. Why not debate instead of using lawfare? I’m the person who stood up to the Epstein class and opposed AIPAC. I’m not going to be intimidated or silenced.”
