Far-left Groups and Coordinated Protests in Austin

The recent protests in Austin, Texas, have raised questions about the coordination and funding of far-left groups alleged to be involved in these activities. Fox News Digital’s Asra Nomani has investigated the organizations believed to be behind these anti-ICE protests across the nation.

Pro-China Network and Protests

The protests coincide with President Donald Trump’s upcoming negotiations with Chinese President Xi Jinping. A network funded by pro-communist tech tycoon Neville Roy Singham is active in these events, creating an image that lawmakers warn China might exploit. Singham’s wife, Jodie Evans, was spotted at a protest in New York City, highlighting this network’s visible presence.

The protests target a wide range of issues, including U.S. military actions and alleged environmental damage. Some politicians argue these protests could serve as tools for foreign adversaries, such as China, in shaping public perceptions.

Financial Backing and Allegations

Singham’s financial contributions are significant, amounting to $285 million spread across various nonprofits, media outlets, and activist organizations. This funding supports anti-American messaging and activities.

The Justice Department is examining whether Singham or related organizations broke laws, suspecting involvement in wire fraud or money laundering. Singham has not faced charges, and the investigation does not confirm direct control over each protest by him.

Austin Protest Details

The events in Austin were initiated after the shooting of Venezuelan national Wilber Rafael Garcés Pérez. Organizations such as the Democratic Socialists of America, Party for Socialism and Liberation, and Freedom Road Socialist Organization quickly mobilized supporters. Despite being framed as spontaneous, these protests function through established activist infrastructures.

Protests’ Expansion and Future Actions

The protest efforts are expanding to New York City and are linked to international events such as Climate Week at the UN. CodePink and other groups, backed by Singham’s network, are engaging in activities throughout the week, protesting various establishments like OpenAI.

Their ongoing protests plan to cover a range of topics, including climate issues, military involvement, and alleged aggressions by Israel in Gaza. Planned activities include a march to the United Nations in opposition to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, highlighting their stance against U.S. and allied actions.

As the week concludes, protests will circle back to Austin, urging citizens to participate actively in the streets.
