Frank Siller Pays Tribute to Fallen Brother in ‘Let Us Do Good’

Frank Siller, Chairman and CEO of Tunnel to Towers Foundation, unveils his memoir ‘Let Us Do Good’, drawing from his brother Stephen Siller’s story. Stephen, an FDNY firefighter, lost his life during the 9/11 attacks. The memoir recounts Stephen’s heroic sprint through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, underscoring the foundation’s commitment to aiding injured veterans and families of first responders.

The book narrates the family’s journey and the profound impact of their efforts. As the 25th anniversary of 9/11 approaches, the foundation is marking the occasion by transporting a steel beam from Ground Zero across America.

“This tour is about ensuring that every generation can remember, and truly understand, what happened 25 years ago,” Frank Siller noted in a press statement.

The 16,900-pound beam, recovered from the South Tower, will traverse over 20 states. It serves as a mobile memorial to 9/11 victims and responders, with events featuring local officials, responders, and foundation members.

The ‘Steel Across America’ tour promises to bring history to communities nationwide, honoring those who sacrificed during 9/11 and beyond. From Lower Manhattan, the tour will reach MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, passing through locations such as California, Arizona, Washington, D.C., and Texas.

The beam is set for display at museums, town squares, sporting events, and the White House, culminating at Ground Zero on the 25th anniversary. One notable stop includes Emma E. Booker Elementary School in Sarasota, Florida, where President George W. Bush learned of the attacks.

Former White House Chief of Staff Andy Card was present as the tour visited the school in May. The Foundation, initiated in memory of Stephen Siller, offers mortgage-free homes to families of fallen service personnel and works against veteran homelessness.

This year, Tunnel to Towers honors the 343 FDNY firefighters who perished on 9/11 by providing 343 mortgage-free homes.
