Actor Hayden Panettiere passed away at the age of 36, according to a statement by her father, Skip Panettiere, on Sunday evening. The statement, shared by her representative, expressed profound sadness at her tragic passing.

The cause and manner of her death were not disclosed. Her publicist, Kasey Kitchen, mentioned that an investigation into the circumstances was underway. Kitchen noted, “We should know more tomorrow.”

This year, Panettiere opened up about her struggles with postpartum depression and addiction. These issues led her to relinquish custody of her daughter, Kaya Evdokia Klitschko, in 2018. Kaya is her child with former partner, Ukrainian boxer Wladimir Klitschko.

Recently, Panettiere released a memoir titled “This Is Me: A Reckoning.” The book made headlines by revealing details about her personal life, including past relationships.

In 2024, she expressed the pain of losing her younger brother, actor Jansen Panettiere, to an undiagnosed heart condition the previous year. Speaking to NBC’s “TODAY” show, she shared how the loss profoundly affected her life, describing it as a world-rocking experience.

Born and raised in Palisades, New York, located about 40 miles north of New York City, Panettiere began her career at only 11 months old, appearing in television commercials. Her early roles included appearances on soap operas like “One Life to Live” and “Guiding Light” from the age of 4.

She also lent her voice to the animated film “A Bug’s Life” and took part in feature films such as “Remember the Titans” and “Bring It On: All or Nothing.”

Among her most noteworthy roles was that of Juliette Barnes on the TV series “Nashville.” Previously, she portrayed Claire Bennet on the 2000s series “Heroes.” Her experience filming “Nashville” was marked by the challenges of new motherhood and dealing with postpartum depression, which sometimes felt overwhelming.
