Hayden Panettiere’s Tragic Passing and Family Reactions

Two days after the death of actress Hayden Panettiere, her mother, Lesley Vogel, publicly addressed the incident. Vogel was previously the manager of Hayden’s childhood career. She expressed concerns about her daughter’s on-again, off-again relationship with boyfriend Brian Hickerson, who was present at the time of Panettiere’s passing in Greenville, South Carolina.

Vogel revealed her ongoing efforts to distance her daughter from Hickerson. She emphasized the challenges faced by young individuals in the entertainment industry, noting how these struggles can lead them astray.

Officials confirmed that Panettiere passed away at 36, with no signs of trauma found in preliminary autopsy results. Despite resuscitation attempts by Emergency Medical Services, she was pronounced dead at 2:32 PM. The cause of her death remains under investigation.

Panettiere’s estrangement from her mother marked another complexity in her life. The actress had ended their professional relationship at 19, citing difficulties in their personal relationship. In May, Panettiere shared with US Weekly her openness to future reconciliation, though they remained distant.

Brian Hickerson, whom Panettiere dated from 2018 until 2022, was also present with his brother, Zach, during her passing. The actress’s untimely death followed that of her brother, Jansen Panettiere, who died at 28 earlier this year.

Hayden Panettiere achieved fame through roles in successful series like “Heroes” and “Nashville.” She is survived by her daughter Kaya, born in 2014, with former fiancé Wladimir Klitschko. Klitschko expressed his deep sadness about Panettiere’s death, acknowledging her significance in his life and their child’s life.

In her memoir, “This Is Me: A Reckoning,” Panettiere explained her decision to give Klitschko full custody of Kaya in 2018. She found solace in knowing that Kaya was well cared for in Europe and wished to shield her from the public turbulence that accompanied their lives.
