The U.S. Secret Service is addressing a video released on Iranian state media that threatens President Trump’s youngest son, Barron Trump. Nate Herring, a Secret Service spokesperson, informed Fox News Digital that the agency is aware of the video and investigates any potential threats to their protectees. Herring also noted that operational security concerns prevent the discussion of protective intelligence matters.
The video in question displays locations associated with Barron Trump and offers a $10 million reward for his whereabouts. This content is part of a pattern from Iranian state media, coinciding with threats directed at Trump and his family following Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s assassination and the U.S. airstrike that killed Iranian General Qasem Soleimani in 2020.
Deputy Director Matt Quinn of the U.S. Secret Service stated that Iran has openly declared intentions to harm President Trump. This assertion came during an ongoing naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and threats from the Trump administration towards nations maintaining economic relations with Tehran.
In July, due to a credible threat from an Iranian surface-to-air missile, Trump switched from Air Force One to another plane while in Turkey, utilizing a catering truck for the changeover for security purposes. The White House has directed inquiries about these matters to the Secret Service.
