A recent post from January 2022 by Francesca Hong highlighted her vision for America. She expressed a desire to shift from ‘an abundance of suffering’ to ‘a wealth of opportunity’ by advocating for equal rights for Black and Brown communities. Hong emphasized the importance of electing leaders from these communities who would not act as obstructionists.

In another post from 2019, Hong shared her discomfort around White people, pointing out an experience at a Culver’s restaurant where she felt anxious.
Hong has been vocal on issues of racial justice, particularly following the decision not to charge officers in the Jacob Blake shooting case. She argued that the police system is a pillar of White supremacy and has supported calls to defund and abolish the police, citing reform as an insufficient option.
Despite criticism, Hong’s campaign has maintained that her views on police and prison abolition are part of a broader vision to address systemic issues. Although the powers of a governor do not include defunding the police, Hong remains committed to her perspective.
Reflecting on her past statements, Hong acknowledged her background in journalism and sports reporting, admitting that intense emotions can sometimes drive ‘hot takes’ on platforms like Twitter. With the primary approaching, she is concentrating on the issues most relevant to Wisconsin voters.
