Hillary Clinton Praises Trump’s Israel-Hamas War Approach

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton gave unexpected praise to President Donald Trump regarding his strategy on the Israel-Hamas conflict. This occurred during her recent appearance in New York City while speaking with David Remnick of The New Yorker at 92NY.

During this conversation, Clinton discussed several key issues, including the complex relationship between Israel and Iran, as well as President Joe Biden’s decision to run for re-election. When Remnick shifted the focus to the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, he noted that a two-state solution seemed far from reality.

‘If I look at the Israeli polity, they don’t want a two-state solution, certainly not now. And if you look at the Palestinian polity, a two-state solution is not near the offing there,’ Remnick said.

Asking Clinton about the viability of the two-state solution, Remnick highlighted that this approach has been losing momentum over the years.

Clinton responded candidly, acknowledging that while many reject Trump’s plan due to its association with him, it presents the only available strategy at the moment. She emphasized that Trump’s 20-point plan offers a pathway to security for Israel and reconstruction for Gaza, potentially leading to Palestinian self-determination.

Clinton elaborated, stating, ‘If officials implemented Trump’s 20-point plan fully, it might end the war abroad. It begins with disarming Hamas—an essential step—and encompasses a holistic approach that moves beyond mere infrastructure projects.’

She admitted that executing the entire 20-point agenda could open a potential path forward, noting that some stakeholders are working toward this goal.

Trump’s plan, presented last year, includes amnesty for Hamas fighters who disarm, transforming Gaza into a demilitarized zone, and fostering commercial redevelopment. The plan details a ceasefire followed by Israeli withdrawal, dependent on conditions met for negotiations and peace talks.

In further developments, U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff announced progress to transition the region from ceasefire to a more stable and governed environment.

The Trump administration also established a Board of Peace, chaired by Trump, to oversee the strategic direction and resource allocation as Gaza moves from conflict to peace.
