Joe Klima, a dedicated worker, spent four decades working at a factory located just a mile from his home on Barbara Drive. His commitment was unwavering. Six days a week, before dawn, he would start his day to contribute to the factory’s reputation for excellence.
Recently, the community gathered to mark the end of an era as the last shift at the Conn Selmer plant in Willowick, Ohio, concluded on June 30. The closure of this plant is a result of the company offshoring many operations to China. This move is seen as a significant shift, especially considering previous calls, even from prominent Trump donors, to end such practices of offshoring essential jobs.
At a local bar, retired employee Jim Rosciszewski shared an emotional moment with former coworkers. They came together to reflect on the time spent and the contributions made over the years at the Conn Selmer plant.
