Jack Osbourne and his wife, Aree Osbourne, have chosen to raise their five children without the assistance of a nanny. In an interview with People magazine, Jack shared insights into their parenting journey during an Emmy nominees event in Los Angeles. He remarked, “Yeah. So we don’t do the nanny thing. I thought it was going to be way gnarlier than it is, but you find a rhythm.”
The couple has two daughters, Maple, 4, and Ozzy Matilda, 6 months, while Jack also fathers Pearl, 14, Andy, 11, and Minnie, 8, from his previous marriage to Lisa Stelly. The Osbournes recently celebrated Maple’s first day at preschool, with Jack humorously referring to Ozzy Matilda as her “emotional support squad.”
Growing up in one of rock music’s most renowned families, Jack has implemented a more structured approach in parenting compared to his own upbringing under Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne. He commented, “I’m a little more structured with my kids than my parents were with me. I won’t take them out of school just to go travel. We do a little bit, but I think structure is healthy.”
Jack and Aree welcomed their youngest daughter, Ozzy Matilda, in March, named in tribute to Jack’s late father. Jack was able to share the news of Aree’s pregnancy with Ozzy before his passing, describing it as a hopeful distraction during a grieving period. In an interview with The Sun, Jack conveyed, “It’s awesome. I think it’s been partly a healthy distraction, partly healing.”
Kelly Osbourne, Jack’s sister, publicly addressed the impact of their father’s death and her own challenges with public comments regarding her appearance during the mourning process. During an interview with Hello!, Kelly shared, “I didn’t navigate it — I wasn’t well. How can you navigate something so cruel when you’re so sick?”
Kelly is focused on healing both her mind and body. She emphasized, “You’ve got to fix the head before you can fix the body. It’s a slow process.” She acknowledged that healing would require ongoing effort and not be resolved in a single therapy session.
Jack has also encountered public scrutiny concerning his appearance. He addressed body-shaming allegations on Instagram related to his weight, countering claims of being “grossly underweight” by explaining his unchanged weight since participating in “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!” His statement highlighted the only noticeable change as shaving his beard and opting for a mustache.
The continual criticism Jack has faced over his appearance prompted him to express frustration with journalists and other commentators who have scrutinized him both overweight and at a healthy weight.
Christina Dugan Ramirez, an entertainment journalist with over 15 years of experience, reported the story.
