Jake Paul’s Boxing Future Uncertain After Injury

Jake Paul’s recent fight might mark the end of his boxing career. He faced Anthony Joshua, a former heavyweight champion, in December and persisted until the sixth round. A broken jaw during the match now threatens his future in boxing.

Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions co-founder, Nakisa Bidarian, outlined the current plan. Paul underwent a medical evaluation where he received a promising progress report. Bidarian mentioned, “The plan is for him to be back sparring two months from now.” This phase is important to gauge his jaw’s response to physical impact.

Paul hopes for a 2026 return, but this depends on his recovery during sparring. He acknowledged the possibility of ending his boxing career. Paul shared with Ariel Helwani, “The bone’s healing and a missing tooth that might need an implant could affect timelines.” Their team aims to choose the wisest path forward.

Reflecting on the fight, Bidarian expressed no regrets about Paul’s decision to fight Joshua. He highlighted Paul’s courage to face a formidable opponent, saying, “He created another massive moment for the sport.” Paul lasted longer in the ring with Joshua than 18 of the champion’s previous adversaries.

As of now, Paul’s record stands at 12-2, with notable victories such as his win against Mike Tyson in November 2024.
