Democratic strategist James Carville has strongly criticized far-left streamer Hasan Piker, pledging to exit the Democratic Party if Piker gains significant influence within it. Carville asserted that most Democrats share his view, stating, “I am not going to be in the same party with Hasan Piker.” He made these remarks during his appearance on “The Sunday Briefing.”
Hasan Piker, self-identified as a socialist streamer, campaigned alongside Democratic Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed and has become a prominent voice as democratic socialism gains traction in elections nationwide. However, Piker has faced criticism, notably for his controversial statement in 2019 that “America deserved 9/11.” Piker later clarified in an interview that his comment aimed to critique U.S. foreign policy.
Carville stated on Fox News that he and Piker would not coexist in the same party, emphasizing that he might leave if Piker rises in influence. Recently, Piker expressed support for Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., as the Democratic presidential candidate for 2028. He also remarked that future Democratic nominees are unlikely to support Israel, pointing to declining Democratic support for the country.
The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is currently grappling with challenges, including significant debt issues under Chair Ken Martin. Carville mentioned that he could not provide assistance, noting the party’s need for resolution. As Democratic Socialists of America-endorsed candidates succeed in primaries, a debate over the party’s ideological direction intensifies.
James Carville expressed concerns about far-left candidates in a CNN interview, describing them as “too hard-headed” and unpopular, warning that they tarnish the Democratic Party’s reputation. Fox News Digital has reached out to Hasan Piker for comment, but has not yet received a response.
