Jana Kramer Finds Joy After Heartbreak With New Film

Jana Kramer, actress and singer, shared with Fox News Digital the joy and personal growth she found after leaving ‘toxic’ relationships. This new perspective is reflected in her latest work, both personally and professionally.

A Path to Renewal

Kramer, known for her public struggles with heartbreak, divorce, and rebuilding her life, emphasizes the importance of moving away from unhealthy situations. According to her, this has contributed to her becoming ‘a better person,’ a theme that resonates with her new Lifetime movie, Where the Heart Lands.

Kramer shared, “Getting out of something really toxic… negative and bad helped me become a better person and a happier person… a lighter person.”

The 42-year-old star frequently receives messages from those facing divorce or significant life changes. Her advice to them is clear: embrace the opportunity for a fresh start.

Embracing Change

“Starting over can be one of the scariest things ever and one of the best things ever,” Kramer noted.

Kramer understands the fear that accompanies a new beginning but highlights the love and beauty on the other side of such transitions. Behind-the-scenes glimpses from Where the Heart Lands show Kramer fully immersed in her role as she sits on horseback, surrounded by the production team. Her openness about past relationship difficulties serves as a caution against staying in harmful situations.

Reflecting on her past, she explained, “Holding on to negative and toxic relationships… it just drains you… then you just start losing yourself, and that’s not the way to live.”

A New Chapter

Kramer shares daughter Jolie and son Jace with ex-husband Mike Caussin, from whom she divorced in 2021. Kramer accused Caussin of infidelity with more than 13 women during their marriage, believing that if she had remained, the behavior would have continued.

The actress has moved forward with former soccer player Allan Russell. They married after a half-year of dating and now have a son, Roman. Kramer, raising three children—Jolie, Jace, and Roman—credits leaving toxic relationships for allowing her to create the life she wanted.

Rebuilding and Moving Forward

Kramer says difficult times can build a foundation for a better future.

Kramer told Fox News Digital, “I think second chances are beautiful.”

Her role in Where the Heart Lands emphasizes rebuilding after loss. The movie features Kramer alongside Tyler Johnson, known for The Young and the Restless, as a Los Angeles real estate agent who inherits racehorses in rural Kentucky. Despite being a disruption, he finds unexpected love with Charlie, a horse trainer portrayed by Kramer.

While filming, Kramer related to Charlie’s fear of losing everything she had worked for: “I’ve worked so incredibly hard, there’s not many opportunities, and I don’t want you to take that away from or ruin my reputation.”

Connection to Nature

Kramer’s time in Kentucky’s horse country was rewarding. Her daughter Jolie’s interest in horseback riding strengthened this connection.

“I love being around horses,” Kramer stated. “There’s something very free about riding a horse.”

During her work, Kramer enjoyed engaging with recently competed racehorses and found the experience both educational and inspiring. She appreciated the emotional intelligence of horses and recognized the growing popularity of equine therapy.

The film, directed by Haylie Duff, also features John Schneider, Charlene Tilton, Alex Barone, and Jessica Szohr. It completes Lifetime’s ‘Love of a Lifetime’ spring slate and is currently available to stream.
