Jim Jordan Considers Amendment to Save College Sports Act

Jim Jordan, Ohio Congressman, mentioned that the unionization of college athletes might be addressed with an amendment to the Save College Sports Act. Jordan expressed concern about the impact of unionization on college sports, highlighting that most athletes, coaches, and universities prefer avoiding the additional complexities that come with it. He noted potential tax issues and other challenges that unionization could introduce to college athletics. The topic will be examined when lawmakers address the bill in the lame-duck session after the elections.

Colorado Playbook Controversy

A Texas Tech fan allegedly discovered parts of Colorado’s football playbook left at a bar in a hotel where the team was staying. The fan, posting under ‘VivaTerlingua’ on On3’s Inside The Double T message board, claimed to have found a 25-page playbook that included details like opening plays and tendencies. Although photographs of the playbook were not posted, the claim gained attention when a supposed acquaintance of VivaTerlingua shared videos on Instagram. These videos allegedly matched plays called during the Colorado vs. Texas Tech game at Folsom Field.

More evidence emerged when another user shared a video on X showing the play sheet and comparing it to the first six plays of Colorado’s game against Texas Tech. Despite this, no clear evidence indicates that Texas Tech’s staff accessed the playbook. However, Texas Tech dominated Colorado in a 29-7 victory, with the Buffaloes struggling significantly, including four interceptions in the second half alone.

Impact on Colorado Program

The incident has added pressure on Colorado’s head coach, Deion Sanders. The team’s recent performance has been subpar, with the Buffaloes now at a 2-3 season record after the defeat against Texas Tech. Over the past three games, Colorado has been outscored 93-27, raising questions about the state of the program and its management.
