John Rich Shows Readiness to Perform at Freedom 250 Celebration

Country musician John Rich has shown willingness to perform at the upcoming Freedom 250 celebration. This development follows the withdrawal of several artists from the event.

Representative Tim Burchett has publicly urged President Donald Trump to include Rich in the musical program for the celebration. In a video message to Trump, Burchett recommended that John Rich lead the event with his popular patriotic songs.

Burchett Calls for Performers

Burchett mentioned Kid Rock and Lee Greenwood as additional performers he wishes to see at the celebration. His suggestion to involve John Rich was shared, stating, “What we ought to do is get your friend and my friend John Rich, a great musician, to lead it off.”

In response, John Rich humorously posted on X, expressing his readiness to join the celebration, saying, “Hey @timburchett don’t threaten ME with a good time! (Have guitar, will travel:).”

Event Challenges and Opportunities

The Freedom 250 celebration, as reported by Newsweek, has been facing several performer withdrawals lately. The event, part of President Donald Trump’s executive orders, is a 16-day “Great American State Fair” scheduled to commence in the coming weeks at the National Mall in Washington, DC. It will feature musical performances and themed installations commemorating the United States’ 250th anniversary.

John Rich’s Online Response

Following Burchett’s comments, Rich reposted a message on X, encouraging Trump to contact him. He suggested assembling a team of patriotic musicians from Nashville for the celebration. The post read, “Trump could have the most badass patriot musicians in Nashville and beyond to put on a 250 celebration for the ages,” with Rich adding, “This is true. I’m always happy to help.”

Trump’s Possible Involvement

Amid the uncertainty about the lineup, Trump hinted at headlining a rally in Washington, DC. He noted performer withdrawals and criticized artists he described as “highly paid, Third Rate ‘Artists’.” Trump also considered substituting musical acts with himself, referring to this option as “the Number One Attraction anywhere in the World.”
