Juror in Clancy Case Retains Lawyer

The lone juror who caused a mistrial in the Lindsay Clancy case has hired attorney Edward Paltzik, known for representing former President Donald Trump. This move suggests the juror is willing to defend his stance.

Lindsay Clancy, 36, was charged with the murder of her three children. The children, ages 5, 3, and 8 months, were found strangled in their home in January 2023. On September 4, Judge William Sullivan declared a mistrial as the jury was deadlocked at 11-1.

Michael P. Desronvil, the holdout juror, expressed confidence in his decision. He stated in a report that the prosecution presented enough evidence to prove Clancy’s criminal responsibility.

“Based on all the physical evidence, key witnesses, and what the prosecution presents, I thought it was enough proof that she knew exactly what she was doing and planned,” Desronvil said.

Paltzik, who represented Trump in his lawsuit against The New York Times and CBS, now also represents Desronvil. Paltzik described Desronvil as an “American Hero” and “Champion of Justice,” emphasizing his focus on the juror’s well-being.

Paltzik will not allow media interviews for Desronvil at present, intending to protect him. Meanwhile, Plymouth County prosecutors are considering whether to retry Clancy, while her legal team seeks to resolve the case outside of court.

Mark Astor, a former prosecutor, believes Desronvil is defending his reputation due to public backlash. He highlighted the significance of maintaining the jury system’s integrity.

Lindsay Clancy is scheduled to appear in court again on September 29 for a status hearing. More details about her case’s future may emerge then.
