Mail Ballots for 2026 General Election
The initial ballots for the 2026 general election are being mailed today. This occurs as President Donald Trump appeals his executive order attempting to limit mail voting to the Supreme Court. North Carolina plans to dispatch absentee ballots later today to voters across its 100 counties.
Missouri’s Redrawn Congressional Maps
Yesterday, the Missouri Supreme Court ruled that the redesigned congressional map, which would remove Democratic Rep. Emanuel Cleaver from his position, is not permissible for this year’s elections. This decision challenges Republican efforts.
Additionally, the court’s decision mandates a referendum in November to determine the map’s future use.
Maryland Redistricting Measure
The Supreme Court of Maryland ruled that a proposed constitutional amendment regarding congressional redistricting must be included in the November ballot. This measure is supported by Democrats as a strategy to control the U.S. House in upcoming elections. The ruling overruled previous court decisions that blocked the amendment. The court also insisted that the ballot summary needs revision.
New Acting Army Secretary
