A ceremony will take place at City Hall in New York City, following a parade for the Knicks in Lower Manhattan. The event will be held on Thursday, starting at noon, at City Hall Plaza.
New York City is using a public lottery system, which closes today at 11 a.m., to distribute 600 tickets for the Knicks’ championship ceremony. From this lottery, 300 winners will be selected, each receiving two tickets. The announcement of winners will occur once the lottery concludes.
The ceremony will feature speeches and musical acts, with Mayor Zohran Mamdani presenting the Knicks players with keys to the city. This event comes after a ticker-tape parade through the Canyon of Heroes in Lower Manhattan.
Mayor Mamdani expressed gratitude towards the Knicks for uniting New Yorkers from every borough. “The Knicks brought together New Yorkers from every borough and every walk of life,” he stated. “That’s why we’re making these tickets free and accessible.”
