Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kyler Murray has been cleared to return to play after exiting the NFL concussion protocol. He will be back in the lineup for the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell announced his return after Murray’s initial appearance for Minnesota was cut short.
In the season opener against the Green Bay Packers, Murray left the game due to a concussion after just 11 plays. Packers safety Javon Bullard’s shoulder hit Murray on the side of the head, necessitating his early exit. Carson Wentz stepped in during Murray’s absence, leading the Vikings to a 39-22 victory over the Packers by scoring 29 straight points.
Wentz effectively led the team once more against the Chicago Bears, securing a 9-3 victory in difficult weather. Over these two games, Wentz went 23 of 39 in passing, accumulating 276 yards and three touchdowns. He was sacked six times but avoided any turnovers.
Meanwhile, Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams avoided a serious hamstring injury, which is a relief for the team. Despite setbacks, the Bears have challenges to address moving forward. Backup quarterback Tyson Bagent is prepared to step in, emphasizing the importance of depth in the team’s roster.
