Lainey Wilson and her new husband, Duck Hodges, are adjusting to life as a married couple while already finishing each other’s sentences. Their first appearance together as husband and wife was at the 61st Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas. Wilson received seven nominations that night, making it one of the biggest in country music.

During a red carpet interview with Fox News Digital, Wilson and Hodges reflected on their thrilling wedding week in a light-hearted and engaging manner. Wilson expressed her surprise at calling Hodges her husband while he admitted that it hadn’t yet sunk in. Their playful exchange continued as they mentioned their recent wedding.

“It’s crazy. It really is crazy. Getting to call you my husband,” Wilson said, smiling at Hodges. “I don’t think it’s sunk in yet,” the former NFL quarterback replied.

The wedding took place on May 10 at The Ruskin Cave in Dickson, Tennessee, a venue they stumbled upon while exploring backroads. Wilson shared her emotional reaction to the wedding with Fox News Digital, noting her long-time love for bell-bottoms and cowboy hats. The ceremony featured elements reflecting her Louisiana roots, like a Cajun-inspired menu and music by the Rebirth Brass Band leading a New Orleans-style celebration.

Speaking with Vogue, Wilson shared that she arrived in a horse-drawn carriage and was greeted by the natural sounds of trickling water and singing birds, adding to the relaxed atmosphere. The ceremony included personal touches such as the bride’s custom Oscar de la Renta gown adorned with cherry blossoms and Hodges’ Western-style attire.

Before the ceremony, the couple privately exchanged handwritten vows, providing an intimate addition to the celebration. Wilson described Hodges’ smile during this moment, emphasizing their shared excitement and eagerness to begin their life together.

The newlyweds celebrated their wedding with Muscadine Bloodline’s “10-90 (The Sound of Roses)” for their first dance. Before making their wedding night exit in a vintage white Ford truck, they enjoyed a sparkler sendoff.

Wilson and Hodges met in 2021 thanks to mutual friends who arranged a blind date in Nashville. After four years of being together, Hodges proposed at the former estate of George Jones. Their return to the ACM Awards as a married couple marked a significant full-circle moment from their first public appearance at the 2023 ACM Awards.
