Simon Cowell’s fiancée, Lauren Silverman, recently shared her experiences during a tumultuous time in her life. She discussed the emotional journey of discovering her pregnancy with Cowell’s child while still married to businessman Andrew Silverman.
In an interview on “Happy Mum: The Podcast,” Silverman opened up about navigating the end of her marriage and the ensuing media frenzy. She revealed the overwhelming emotions tied to the transition, stating that it was one of the hardest periods of her life. While she expressed no regrets, she acknowledged wishing that circumstances had unfolded differently.
Cowell and Silverman’s relationship became public in 2013 after news broke about her pregnancy. The revelation led to a whirlwind of media attention and her husband’s subsequent filing for divorce. Silverman, who has a son named Adam with her ex-husband, expressed regret over the pain caused by the scandal. Her priority was protecting Adam during the intense scrutiny.
Silverman described waking up each day trying not to fall apart, as she faced being on magazine covers and in endless news stories. Despite the backlash, she felt confident in her decision to be with Cowell, believing their relationship was destined.
She acknowledged understanding the perspective of those who judged her actions, and accepted responsibility for her choices. Silverman stated, “I felt like, ‘OK, this has happened. I’m a big girl.'” She aimed to keep her head down amidst criticism by focusing on moving forward.
Reflecting on the past 12 years, Silverman spoke about personal growth and self-forgiveness. She noted that she has made peace with her past decisions, and now prioritizes her happiness and well-being.
Their son, Eric, was born in February 2014, and the couple’s bond has strengthened since the initial uproar. Cowell recounted how becoming a father transformed his life, declaring that his son ‘saved him’ during a challenging period. He shared these sentiments on “The Diary Of A CEO” podcast, highlighting the profound impact Eric has had on his outlook and happiness.
