Attorneys representing social media influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate are set to be in a Miami courtroom on Monday. They will contest extradition efforts that may result in the brothers returning to the United Kingdom to confront charges, including rape.
The brothers are not anticipated to be present at the hearing. This session will focus on scheduling a bond hearing, setting filing deadlines, and preparing for a formal extradition hearing.
Federal authorities arrested the Tates, who possess dual U.S. and U.K. citizenship, in Miami on July 18. The arrest followed sealed warrants related to the U.K.’s request for their extradition. In the U.K., seven women have accused the former kickboxers of various offenses, such as rape, assault, human trafficking, and operating prostitution for profit. These allegations span from 2010 to 2017.
The brothers deny all accusations against them. Their attorney suggests the charges are politically driven, though no evidence has been provided to support this claim.
Andrew and Tristan Tate gained significant influence in the online “manosphere.” This segment of media emphasizes hyper-masculinity, wealth, and misogyny. They also played a role in rallying young male supporters for President Donald Trump during his previous campaign.
The Tates assert they have connections to some of Trump’s associates. They have received backing from notable MAGA figures. Yet, the White House has clarified that the president will not assist them in evading extradition.
Currently, the Tate brothers remain in a federal detention facility in Miami.
