OpenAI, Anthropic PBC, and SpaceXAI encountered service disruptions on Thursday, impacting numerous users. Reports from users and company status pages highlighted these outages affecting leading US AI model providers.
Tens of thousands of users reported issues with OpenAI services on Downdetector, a known outage-tracking service. OpenAI announced it was investigating increased error rates in its ChatGPT chatbot and Codex AI coding tool.
Anthropic confirmed that some of its models had recovered from errors, but the company is still working to resolve ongoing disruptions with its Opus 4.8 and Opus 5 offerings.
SpaceXAI’s chatbot, Grok, is also experiencing outages as stated on the company’s status page.
