A man with a history of violence and arrests is accused of fatally shooting his parents before taking his own life in Madison, New York. Investigators say Justin Sislo, 35, is suspected in the murder-suicide incident.
Steve Sislo, 76, and Donna Walker-Sislo, 72, were discovered dead in their McCormick Road home. Officials believe Justin Sislo killed them before shooting himself.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office stated: “While observing the residence from the exterior, the first responding Deputy observed two adult subjects, obviously deceased, through a main level window. Upon making entry to the home, a third adult subject was located deceased inside.”
The couple reportedly paid $10,000 twice in one month to bail their son out of jail following his arrests related to a domestic violence case with two dozen charges.
Justin Sislo was arrested on July 29. His father, a notable businessman and philanthropist, was involved in several local organizations, including the Capitol Theatre and the Rome Area Chamber of Commerce, as reported by the Rome Daily Sentinel.
During his most recent arrest, authorities found several firearms in Sislo’s possession, despite two protective orders prohibiting him from having weapons.
Court records show Sislo faced charges for “strangulation” and “endangering an incompetent person” in Cayuga County in June.
Madison County Sheriff Todd Hood expressed frustration over Sislo’s release from custody, stating he preferred Sislo remained in jail without the option of bail.
