Mark Cuban’s WWE Appearances

Mark Cuban, a billionaire known for his fearless ventures, entered the WWE ring in the early 2000s. He left with a sore back and newfound respect for professional wrestlers. Cuban shared his wrestling experiences on ‘Build or Break,’ where the host asked him whether he thought WWE should be built or broken.

WWE Cameos

Cuban recounted being involved in two WWE cameo appearances. After purchasing the Dallas Mavericks, WWE approached him in 2003, inviting him to participate in their Dallas events. He agreed, stipulating he wanted to get hit and to hit someone. He recounted getting flipped by Randy Orton, a maneuver that required practice and caused discomfort.

In 2009, Cuban featured again, participating in WWE Live alongside John Cena. This time, he interacted with wrestler Sheamus. Cuban was tasked to bring Sheamus to the canvas, fulfilling his rule while being warned about an impending table smash. He ensured his head stayed down to prevent injury, despite the discomfort of being thrown.

Endurance and Respect

The physical pain Cuban endured lasted for two weeks. His back pain highlighted the athleticism required in wrestling. Cuban emphasized respecting the wrestlers for managing pain, despite scripted events.

Cuban’s Unique Participation

Cuban’s involvement in wrestling events became well-discussed. Unlike typical sports team owners such as Jerry Jones or George Steinbrenner, Cuban’s active participation in such stunts remains unusual.

Moments like Cuban’s ring experiences showcase the entertainment aspect of wrestling. These encounters continue to make professional wrestling compelling for audiences.
