David Jonsson will take on the iconic role of Black Panther, the son of Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa, as announced by director Ryan Coogler at Marvel Studios’ Comic-Con International presentation. Jonsson joined Coogler on stage with fellow actors Letitia Wright and Winston Duke, displaying appreciation by placing his hand to his chest. “Black Panther III,” a highly anticipated sequel, is slated for release in December 2028.
Jonsson expressed gratitude, acknowledging his new role with the Marvel family. Known for his work in “Industry,” “The Long Walk,” and “Alien: Romulus,” the 32-year-old actor promised to let the film speak for him. With Boseman’s passing in 2020, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” revealed T’Challa’s son, sparking speculation about the next Black Panther. This announcement ends months of fan speculation.
Ryan Gosling will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Ghost Rider, working again with “Star Wars: Starfighter” director Shawn Levy. The film is also scheduled for release in 2028. At the presentation, Gosling shared his enthusiasm for the role with Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige. Previously, Eva Mendes appeared with Nicolas Cage in the original “Ghost Rider” film. Now, the character will appear in the MCU after being absent since the Sony-led sequel in 2012.
Kevin Feige also revealed that Joe and Anthony Russo’s “Avengers: Endgame” will return to theaters on September 25. The rerelease includes new footage to connect it to the Russos’ upcoming “Avengers: Doomsday,” expected to premiere on December 18. Fans eagerly attended Comic-Con’s panel, which featured appearances from “Doomsday” stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Pedro Pascal.
