During a conversation with IndieWire, Teller, age 39, spoke about the difficulties faced in maintaining longevity in a constantly evolving industry. He expressed how a profile he considered misaligned nearly derailed his career path.
Teller explained his reluctance to participate in traditional press, recalling his discontent with the 2015 article. “The mishandling of that piece has kept me from doing profiles,” he said. “Off-camera interviews pose risks; people can misquote or rearrange comments, leading to inaccuracies.” The experience felt like a breach of the true occurrence, he expressed.
Despite public narratives shaped by written content, Teller defended his colleagues by pointing out that real work ethic shines through on a film set, regardless of potential personality clashes. “You can’t hide who you are in that work environment. Actors, directors, crews, and producers recognize authenticity over superficial disputes,” Teller stated.
