A mountain lion found resting on the sidewalk under a tree’s shade led to the closure of a street in San Dimas. Wildlife officials hurried to the scene on a Friday afternoon to manage the situation.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s San Dimas Station shared on Instagram that they received reports of a mountain lion strolling along Foothill Boulevard, between San Dimas Avenue and San Dimas Canyon Road. This announcement was made after 8 a.m.
Authorities advised local residents to avoid the area, secure their pets, and remove any outdoor food. These measures aim to prevent attracting the mountain lion. The Sheriff’s post urged runners, pedestrians, and residents to stay alert.
Cort Klopping, a public information officer with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, confirmed that the department received the reports and was responding to the location.
