Mustafa Ali Emerges Victorious in TNA Slammiversary Open Challenge

Mustafa Ali entered Total Nonstop Action Wrestling’s (TNA) Slammiversary event with an open challenge for the International Championship. TNA’s director of operations, Daria Rae, was set to announce Ali’s opponent during the pre-show. However, Ali proactively made his way to the ring before the announcement.

Before Rae could reveal the challenger, Santino Marella, TNA’s director of authority, interrupted. Marella and Rae each proposed opponents for a triple-threat match. Rich Swann was announced as the first opponent. Then Uhaa Nation, formerly known as Apollo Crews during his WWE tenure, debuted as the second challenger. Nation held titles like the intercontinental champion and U.S. champion in WWE.

Nation, after tossing Ali from the ring, turned his attention to Swann. This initiated the match. Ali, needing to counter the strength and agility of both competitors, received assistance from Order 4 members, Tasha Steelz and Special Agent Zero. They distracted Nation, giving Ali a key advantage.

In the ring, Ali capitalized on Swann being isolated. He evaded Swann’s moves, securing a victory with a backslide pin and a bridge. This win marked Ali’s first International Championship reign since joining TNA in 2024. He previously won the X Division Championship and earned the title of X Division Star of the Year.

With the backing of Order 4, Ali has maintained a strong win record. He captured the International Championship from Trey Miguel at Rebellion in Cleveland, continuing his success streak.
