The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship saw a change on “Friday Night SmackDown.” Originally, Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid of Fatal Influence were set to defend their titles against Charlotte Flair and Tatum Paxley.
However, an unexpected attack by Jade Cargill, Michin, and B-Fab left Flair unable to compete. Alexa Bliss stepped in for Flair, teaming with Paxley. Their opponents, Henley and Reid, tried using underhanded tactics to win. Henley pinned Paxley, using the ropes and Reid for leverage, but the referee caught the cheating.
With Reid distracted, Bliss took advantage by attacking her and executing the Sister Abigail move outside the ring. This diversion allowed Paxley to focus on Henley, delivering the Cemetery Drive move and securing the pin.
Paxley and Bliss celebrated their victory in the ring, leaving Henley and Reid shocked. Henley and Reid’s reign ended at 83 days. They had won the titles in July at Saturday Night’s Main Event by defeating Brie Bella and Paige.
For Paxley, this triumph marked her first title win on the main WWE roster. She debuted in August and previously held titles in NXT, including the NXT Women’s Championship. On her SmackDown debut, Paxley assisted Bliss and Flair in repelling an assault by Cargill, Michin, and B-Fab, indicating an ongoing rivalry.
Bliss adds a fifth tag team title to her achievements, having previously held the belt with partners like Charlotte Flair, Asuka, and Nikki Cross.
