The New York Giants faced a challenging game against the Los Angeles Rams during Monday night’s primetime matchup. The team suffered a major setback when starting quarterback Jaxson Dart exited early with a sprained MCL. This injury occurred in the first quarter, placing additional strain on the Giants.
Compounding their problems, star wide receiver Malik Nabers experienced severe shoulder pain following an attempted catch from backup quarterback Jameis Winston. Medical staff quickly assessed Nabers on the sideline and initially labeled him as questionable for the remainder of the game.
Fortunately, Nabers made a return in the second quarter.
After the match, the 23-year-old receiver shared with reporters the ordeal he faced. “My shoulder’s okay. Gonna get an X-ray on it, see what’s going on. I was out there, trying to just come back out. We had lost [Jaxson Dart], so I didn’t want to give the team another loss,” Nabers explained. To rejoin the game, he managed to pop his shoulder back into place.
Although he was back on the field, Nabers had a minimal impact during the “Monday Night Football” game. He recorded a single catch for one yard in what ended up being a lopsided 28-6 defeat.
Looking ahead, the Giants aim to rebound when they face the Tennessee Titans in their Week 3 matchup scheduled for the upcoming Sunday.
