Odell Beckham Jr. Nears NFL Comeback with New York Giants

Odell Beckham Jr. is moving closer to returning to the NFL. The former All-Pro wide receiver plans to work out with the New York Giants on Monday. This comes after a hiatus from the league since the 2024 season. Jordan Schultz reported this major development, suggesting a potential reunion between Beckham Jr. and the Giants.

The Giants’ decision may have been influenced by the recent injury to WR Gunner Olszewski, who suffered a torn Achilles. Beckham Jr. previously played for the Giants. He was the No. 12 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft and spent the first five seasons of his career with them.

His last appearance in an NFL game happened on December 8, 2024, with the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins waived him five days later. Should Beckham Jr. join the Giants and play in Week 1, it will be 644 days since his last game.

During his short tenure with the Dolphins, Beckham Jr. had nine receptions for 55 yards across nine games. Over his ten-year career, he has amassed 575 receptions, 7,987 yards, and 59 touchdowns. His most productive period was with the Giants. There, he made 390 receptions, accumulated 5,476 yards, and scored 44 touchdowns over 59 games.

If signed, Beckham Jr. would strengthen a Giants receiving group that includes Malachi Fields, a 2026 third-round pick, Malik Nabers, a 2024 first-round pick, and Darnell Mooney, a free-agent acquisition. Last season, the Giants ranked 21st in passing yards per game at 204.4. Their top receiver, Wandale Robinson, has since joined the Tennessee Titans on a free-agent contract.
