Paris Saint-Germain Victory Celebrations Turn Chaotic in Paris

Paris witnessed a chaotic scene on Saturday night following Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG) triumph in the Champions League. The festivities quickly descended into chaos, leading to the arrest of at least 45 people.

The victory celebrations gathered large crowds at notable locations like the Arc de Triomphe. Reports indicated fans ignited flares and honked car horns in jubilation. Law enforcement struggled to manage the thousands gathered along the Champs-Élysées.

Adding to the turmoil, a group tried to breach a police station. Authorities reported businesses being vandalized, vehicles set ablaze, and even a bakery and restaurant sustaining damage during the unrest.

Despite police efforts, a crowd briefly blocked the main ring road encircling the city, causing further disruption. The situation left one police officer injured.

The excitement erupted when PSG secured a dramatic victory over Arsenal in the Champions League final, marking a significant achievement for the club on the European stage.

Past celebrations have also seen violence. After PSG’s previous Champions League win, the city faced 201 injuries and over 500 arrests across France.
