Authorities in Philadelphia have initiated a death investigation after examining images and videos uncovered in a city residence. These visual materials appear to show the bodies of two missing women.
The evidence was found during an investigation involving Eugene Horsch, 44. Since June, Horsch’s home in Olney has attracted police attention. He currently faces charges related to firearm possession and fake DEA and FBI credentials, as per local reports. As of Wednesday, no new charges have been filed against him.
On Wednesday, Philadelphia Police Inspector Ray Evers addressed the media, stating that digital evidence reviews revealed visuals depicting the two deceased women.
The women have been identified as Maribel Fresses and Gabriella Amarando. Fresses went missing in 2018 at the age of 27, while Amarando disappeared in 2012 when she was 22.
Inspector Evers refrained from disclosing specifics about the footage but mentioned, “It’s real dark. What we saw is these two girls alive; there is a period of time, and what appears to us is that they are deceased.”
The investigation involves over 95 search warrants executed at Horsch’s residence. The FBI is collaborating to support the investigation. So far, officials have recovered roughly 600,000 images and 70,000 videos from the home’s hard drives.
Evers described the digital evidence volume as “astonishing.” He acknowledged the complexity of the case, highlighting it as “new territory” for the Philadelphia homicide unit.
“Usually, when we have a homicide investigation, we have a body. We have body parts. This time we do not,” Evers noted.
This remains an active investigation with more developments expected.
