Zachary Ehlers, the president of the Illinois Railway Museum, conducted tours of a 1926 electrified rail car on July 26, 2026. The event took place during Railroad Days at the Pullman National Historical Park, located on Chicago’s Far South Side. This date marked 100 years since electric trains began replacing steam locomotives for commuter services along the south lakefront.
The weekend gathering offered visitors the opportunity to explore historical rail cars. Attendees could also enjoy a ride on a miniature train, adding to the celebration.
