Retired Math Professor Charged in Wife’s Death

A retired math professor, Leland Jameson, age 64, faces charges following the alleged shooting of his wife, Chisen Jameson, in Fair Oaks, Virginia. Chisen, who was 60 years old, worked as an airline meteorologist for Japan’s All Nippon Airways at Dulles Airport.

When police arrived at the home, they found Chisen Jameson suffering from gunshot wounds. She had dialed 911 before the shooting, allowing operators to hear sounds that matched gunfire in the background. Leland Jameson is charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm during a felony.

Leland, who previously held a position as a professor at George Mason University and holds a Ph.D. from Brown University, also made a call to 911. In his call, he reported a domestic dispute with Chisen and claimed uncertainty about the severity of her injuries.

Officials reported finding multiple firearms inside the residence. Chisen Jameson’s employer, All Nippon Airways, expressed their sorrow over her passing. A spokesperson from the airline described her as a valued and deeply missed team member.

The couple has two adult sons residing in Northern Virginia. The incident has left a lasting impact on both their family and the local community.
