Rhea Ripley Undergoes Knee Surgery, Eyes Return to WWE

WWE star Rhea Ripley announced on Thursday that she had surgery on her right knee. Ripley is currently the WWE women’s champion and a top performer on the SmackDown brand.

On Instagram, Ripley shared a personal update, saying, “After nearly 14 years in wrestling and engaging in sports my entire life, it’s caught up with me. Surgery wasn’t my first choice, but it became necessary.” She expressed hope for recovery and a return to wrestling, adding, “I’ve survived; now it’s time to start thriving again so I can return to what I love.”

Ripley has not appeared on “Friday Night SmackDown” since June 5. It was reported that she had suffered an injury, but details were unclear. Now, two months on, Ripley missed major events like Night of Champions and SummerSlam.

In Ripley’s absence, WWE crowned Chelsea Green as the interim women’s champion in a ladder match at SummerSlam. Green’s victory over Tiffany Stratton, Jade Cargill, Lash Legend, and Charlotte Flair marked her first world title win. She now leads the women’s division.

Fans are eager to see Ripley return to full strength and potentially unify her title with Chelsea Green’s, promising an exciting matchup.
