Barry McCoy, who owns the Montana Livestock Auction in Ramsay, has expressed frustration with President Donald Trump’s decision to increase beef imports into the United States.
Over the past two months, McCoy has observed a decline in cattle prices. This trend aligns with the uncertainty caused by Trump’s tariffs. In August, the President announced an end to tariffs on 660 million pounds of foreign beef. These imports, destined for U.S. grocery stores, would be sold at lower prices. Dubbed “mystery meat,” their origins remain unclear.
